First off, I'm apologizing for not getting out the last few weeks of Recaps and Power rankings. I've still been keeping up with recording our data for my own sake, but haven't had the time or energy to keep up with the writing. It takes me about an hour per article -- with work, the holidays, and my pregnant wife, I've found less time to manage everything.
Second, god damn Joe. Where the fuck did you come from? 8 week win streak and taking over first place? Watch out boys. He might be the one to beat. Watching Joe's streak made me think about our teams as compared to NFL teams. And since we're a few weeks from the Playoffs, I thought it was time to give each one of us a comparison. I'll start from the bottom, cause I'm closest to there anyway.
Josh - Seahawks: They looked like a good team to start the season. One of the best teams they've had in years. Injury to a lead RB (Kamara), QB (Winston) gets injured, and they are in last in their division. Don't let Russ Cook anymore. He's a really bad chef.
Jordan - Giants: I mean, no one really expected much from them. They/you haven't had a good season since the early 2010s. Firing your OC in Nov doesn't bode well. Great RB (Swift) and great WR (Ridley) doesn't help much if they can't stay on the field. Welp, there's always next year.
Will - Bears: The last thing Bears fans wanted to see was their star QB (Murray) out for 4 weeks. But hey, they got to 3-3 and then just tanked. 5 Weeks losing and I have just a slight hope to make the playoffs. Hope and luck is what I/They need right now.
Boyer - Broncos: Things were looking up at the beginning. Great young RB (Harris), top QB, and all the support from a historically great organization. Now you're fighting for a wildcard spot, and in a surprisingly even division. Things will absolutely come down to the last week.
Mike - Raiders: This one is more obvious to the team than the performance history. Who wants to see the Raiders win? Fuckin' nobody. But hey, they're right there in the playoff hunt once again. For our sake and the NFL's sake, let's not have a team with a history of name-calling and belittlement win the title -- again. Also, don't get fucked by Toevid.
David - Chargers: New team to LA (ETFL), solid performances across the board. Arguably best RBs in the league, but yet somehow you know they're not gonna win. Chargers have been famous for this for decades. Final game of the season, and they choke. Where's your choke moment David?
Chu - Bills: An absolute favorite from the beginning to have a strong team and a strong season. But a couple of games, including one mind-boggling loss to the Jags 9-6, losing 41 - 15 to the Bills, and you're down a couple pegs. Well, you're definitely playoff bound, if not with a few scrapes. Maybe David was right when he called CMC a bust.
Brett - Buccaneers: I mean this one is obvious. You've got Tom Brady, you're coming off a Super Bowl win, and you were absolutely hot to start the season. You're still hot on a 6 game heater, but there was a few in there that have shook your confidence. Playoffs are locked, but the ring is not.
Scott - Rams: Yikes dawg. 3 losses in a row? Remember when you were far and away the favorite in the NFC? You traded late for a receiver, and so far that hasn't panned out amazing. But you're not going anywhere. Maybe a little banged up, but you're in the playoffs, and for fucks sake I'm rooting for you.
Joe - Patriots: Did anyone see this coming? A win streak and now leading the division. You're facing your true divisional opponent Bills (Chu), and will be under the true test of stability. What happens when an immovable object is met with an unstoppable force? Seeding implications are heavy in this matchup, and perhaps you'll see each other again in the playoffs.
Good luck for the final stretch boys. It's gonna be a wild finish. Get your boosters cause next year we're doing this big. #vegasdraft #$2kpernightminimum
