Week 7 Power Rankings - Shifting of the Tide

This week sees a major shift in the power rankings. With a major dud put up by myself, I singlehandedly brought down the league scoring average this week. Boyer shot up the rankings breaking the StreakBreaker's streak. He's been bouncing around the rankings in the last 4 weeks at 6th, 5th, 8th, 5th.

Brett has been steadily climbing up the power rankings the last 3 weeks, going from 7th to 4th.

We're over halfway through the regular fantasy season, and the playoff picture is starting to take place. 2 wins separate 5-9th place, meaning a lot of shuffling will happen between now and the end of the regular season. This also means points for will play a large factor in deciding placement, so pick your starters carefully.

Stat of the week: Chu's points against are 25 points off Scott's points for, so one could say that Chu has essentially only played Scott this season.

Matchup of the week: Massive Johnson(s) (6-1) vs Mahome Improvement (5-2)

Brett's hot streak will be tested against Raj this week. Brett gets the Chiefs against the Jets, who will absolutely smash. You have to assume that they will control the game on the ground, potentially limiting Mahomes' ceiling, but it's a pretty high ceiling regardless. Adams came back to full strength with a banger last week putting up 41 fantasy points. His weak spot is at RB, but the rest of his starters have been handily making up this defecit.

Raj is in a tough spot this week. He's currently starting Phillip Rivers against the Lions, but potentially gets McCaffrey back this week depending on how practice goes for him. Julio's health is in question this week, and is even more suspect with a Thursday start. He's also currently rolling out former #1 Fantasy RB Adrian Peterson against the Colts. The Colts have not allowed any running back to rush for more that 72 yards, and that was to Kareem Hunt on 20 carries.

I think this matchup will come down to QB performance on both sides. Raj gets a much bigger uptick if McCaffrey comes back, but even with that potential I think Brett takes the W.

Points by Week

Individual Notes

Scott: Easily best QBs in the league. Well deserved #1 spot. WRs are questionable this week, but shouldn't matter cause he's playing me. Next year I'm gonna get the flu on purpose for the draft.
Mike: Easily best RBs in the league. Pray to your various gods they stay healthy cause your RB depth is trash. Only 5-2 cause he faced Scott last week.
Raj: Potentially gets Christian "Minecraft Server" McCaffrey back this week. Brady gonna smash the Giants. AP is still relevant, which is more confusing than the plot of Tenet.
Brett: Both QBs gonna smash. RBs suspect, but WRs more than make up for it. Has a chance to take #2 from Raj if Mike loses. #alwaysTheBridesmaid
Boyer: Never count him out. Bills didn't even score a touchdown last week and he still put up 166. Lockett put up what may be the greatest WR performance in history. Mike is sweating a bit.
Josh: StreakBreaker broke his own streak (told you I'd save this). Cook to return this week possibly. If anything happens to CEH Josh will river his way into a backdoor starting RB1 with Bell.
Joe: Whenever Joe proclaims it's <insert player name> szn, it's guaranteed to be a curse. His team is boom or bust depending on matchups, but currently looking up. Gibson on pace for 845 yards rushing.
Will: 4 week losing streak about to be 5 facing Scott. On paper, team looks pretty good. Zeke is RB 2/3 with Dalton at the helm. Gordon to have 1 week as workhorse. WRs look good as long as they stay hot. Cam needs to step the fuck up.
Jordan: Facing Chu, so should be another win. Playoffs are not out of the picture. Mixed matchups so could be closer than expected.
Chu: Had his second best scoring week last week, but happened to run into Boyer and Lockett. #schneidWatch begins this week facing Jordan.

Good luck m'dudes.
